Top Ten Reasons to Choose Eagle Elementary
At Eagle Elementary of Akron, a tuition-free public elementary school in the Kenmore neighborhood, there are so many reasons our students are taking flight. Here are our top ten!
1. Our Safe School
At large schools, students can become just another face in a crowded classroom. That will never happen at Eagle. We maintain small classes so that we can get to know every student and family personally. There are no cracks for students to fall through here.
2. Our Focus on Student Wellbeing
We know that students learn best when their needs are met, so we created a comprehensive wellness policy. We have a full-time PE/health teacher who teaches students about physical health. We invest in the social-emotional health of our students through dedicated mental health programs. We also provide free meals to all of our students every day and send backpacks full of food home for the weekend.
3. Our Involvement in Our Community
We can’t do this work all by ourselves. That’s why we have volunteers and community partners who work alongside our staff to bolster our programs and services. In turn, we also serve our community, helping students develop self-worth and a sense of social responsibility through helping others.

We love to celebrate the achievements of students. On Fridays, we come together as a community to showcase the work that students have produced together. Everyone gets a chance during the year to show off to their peers and families. At the end of the year, we have our arts showcase where we celebrate student artwork alongside community artists.

We pride ourselves on the strong academic program we have at Eagle Elementary. We challenge students to think critically, analyze problems, and develop creative solutions, skills that are essential for success in the modern world. We prepare students for the challenges they will face in middle school, high school, and beyond.

We collect and analyze student data frequently so we can adjust student lesson plans as needed.
